PGA Professional Chris Ramsden
Chris began playing golf aged 11 when he joined Falmouth Golf Club. He originally embarked on a career aged 16 as a greenkeeper joining the greens staff at Budock Vean Hotel and Country Club.
A year later Chris decided that the Professional Golfers Association was to be his true calling, he joined Ian at Mullion Golf Club and enrolled on the PGA three year foundation degree course a year later.
During these three years Chris played in and won a Professional Tournament sponsored by Titleist, shooting a 5 under par 63, he also tied 2nd in a local Pro-Am at Truro Golf Club with a 2 under par 65. Although playing to a high standard Chris discovered his passion for coaching, helping golfers of all ages and abilities gain greater pleasure from the game.
In 2011 aged 23 Chris qualified as a Grade A PGA Professional and has since majored in golf tuition, building up a considerable client base and enviable reputation with golfers of all abilities both local and players visiting Cornwall on holiday.
Chris' approach of "cause and effect” has proven extremely effective with players experiencing remarkable improvements to their games.
Chris offers on course tuition which enables him to see all areas of the clients game including short game and course management. Outdoor scenario coaching is also offered and is useful to improve short game and to look at contact and ball flight. Finally indoor Academy sessions where the swing is recorded giving the student the opportunity to see their own swing; this makes it easier to understand what needs to be done with the swing which leads to faster improvements.
Although specialising in coaching Chris’ other skills lie in club repairs and alterations; Whether it’s lengthening, shortening, re-shafting or re-gripping golf clubs or even re-spiking shoes, there's little that can't be done at Mullion Golf Club.
