November's Greenkeeping Report

Welcome to my November Greens Report.
A short report this month.
Gordon has now returned from a well-deserved holiday to continue with the publicised Winter maintenance program. Having played in the final Seniors match last Thursday and the WAGS this afternoon, Nov 8th, I must congratulate Craig and Jamie on the fantastic work they have continued in Gordon’s absence. The greens are as true and fast as ever; Some achievement, particularly at this time of year.
More verti draining will take place over the next couple of weeks. Only small holes are formed and this decompaction of the putting surface not only allows for better drainage but also allows more oxygen to reach the roots, encouraging better growth.
Again, please refer back to my September report if you wish to see the full list of maintenance work that is being carried out over the coming months. Cutting and defining the fairways whilst keeping the rough as manageable as possible during the wetter season will, of course, be carried out whenever the weather allows.
If you have questions or concerns about anything to do with our course please feel free to discuss any issues with Gordon, his staff or myself at any time.
Best regards and continue to enjoy your Winter golf,
Mike Pamphilon
